Flight Club Opens 13th U.S. Location, a 300-Guest Flagship at Union Square

Flight Club's 13th U.S. venue opens Nov. 11 at Union Square: 10,700 square feet, 300-guest capacity, $17 gameplay and a zero-proof cocktail program in the former Blue Water Grill.

Flight Club opens its 13th U.S. location — and first in Manhattan — on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 31 Union Square West, inside the historic 1902 Bank of the Metropolis building that most recently housed the Blue Water Grill. The venue is the 32nd-plus location globally for the Social Darts concept, which now spans more than 30 sites worldwide.

The new flagship covers 10,700 square feet across two floors and holds up to 300 guests. It runs 15 semi-private playing areas, called oches, plus two bars and both indoor and outdoor event space. Reservations start at $17 per person for 90 minutes of gameplay, with oches seating groups of up to 12; parties of 13 or more work with a dedicated events team.

Flight Club was founded in London in 2015 by Red Engine, and State of Play Hospitality operates the brand in North America under license. Its core product is proprietary Social Darts technology that scores every throw automatically, replacing the clipboard-and-chalk ritual of pub darts with fast-paced multiplayer games. An Action Replay feature captures throws in slow motion and sends highlight videos and group photos to guests after play.

What does the venue actually look like?

Flight Club's in-house design team preserved the building's original marble floors, decorative cornicing, ornate ceilings and floral millwork, then layered in the brand's Victorian fairground aesthetic. A vintage carousel horse greets arriving guests. New York-specific touches run through the interiors: Hudson Valley landscapes, Coney Island and Central Park references, and Easter eggs like Yankees hats, hot dogs and a woman wearing a Statue of Liberty crown.

The main floor's carousel bar anchors the space, with marquee lights that respond to sound and music. Additional areas include the Cyclone Room, built around antique fairground panels and vintage Coney Island memorabilia; The Vault, which nods to the building's banking history; and The Knickerbocker, a fully private events space with its own bar. The layout is built so groups move freely between playing, eating and drinking.

How does the food and beverage program work?

The kitchen serves chef-driven shareable dishes designed to eat between throws — flatbreads, sliders, tacos and dessert platters. Menu highlights include Lobster Elote Dip, Pork Belly Sliders, Mini Duck Tacos and Spiced Piri Piri Chicken, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-sensitive options. That format matters economically: shareable plates keep groups at the oche longer and lift per-head spend without slowing table turns.

The cocktail program was developed with guest beverage consultant Kristi Pelizzoli and features the Ginger Orange Sour, London Fog & Faire and Banker's Boulevardier, alongside signatures like the Honeycrisp Spritz, Sarti Vita Spritz and Crimson Margarita, plus wine and draft beer. Every cocktail can be made zero-proof, extending the program to non-drinkers rather than running a separate menu.

What are the deals and the door policy?

Weekday happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., with $3 off draft beer, liquor and wine by the glass, plus specially priced cocktails and shareable bites from $10. Weekend "Darty Brunch," Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offers brunch favorites, $30 bottles of La Marca Prosecco and specialty cocktails. The main floor bar takes walk-ins for drinks and dining — no darts reservation required — which adds a conventional bar revenue stream on top of gameplay bookings.

Sunday through Friday, guests 12 and older are welcome before 6 p.m. with an adult 21 or older; after 6 p.m. and all day Saturday, the venue is 21-plus.

"Launching Flight Club New York has been many years in the making and marks a defining moment both for us as a company and Flight Club as a brand," said Toby Harris, President and CEO of State of Play Hospitality. "New York offers an incredible opportunity for us to introduce Social Darts to new audiences and reimagine an entertainment venue of stunning quality."

The Union Square opening gives State of Play a flagship in a flagship market, and the brand's growth curve — 13 U.S. venues and counting — suggests social entertainment concepts with built-in F&B are still finding real estate in premium urban addresses.
