IDS Next, a hospitality technology provider powering more than 300,000 rooms across 220-plus hotel chains, has launched Pomolabs, a wholly owned subsidiary that will build an AI-native operating system for hotels.

The new company, announced today, positions itself against what it calls disconnected applications and isolated automation. Its architecture stacks five connected layers: guest engagement, direct booking, front office, housekeeping and operational decision-making. The stated goal is to turn a property's existing digital stack into an ecosystem that understands information, synchronises systems and supports decisions.

Suresh John, Founder and Executive Chairman of IDS Next, framed the venture around operator outcomes rather than automation for its own sake.

"At Pomolabs, our mission is to help the hospitality industry turn the promise of AI into meaningful business outcomes," John said. "AI should do more than automate tasks or provide information. It should empower teams, anticipate guest and business needs, enable faster and better decisions, and help hotels improve both operational performance and guest experiences."

He added that the opportunity lies in embedding intelligence into everyday operations, so hoteliers spend less time managing complexity and more time creating guest experiences and business value.

Who leads Pomolabs?

Binu Mathews, CEO of IDS Next, becomes Co-Founder and President of Pomolabs while retaining his IDS Next role. He argued the industry has reached a point where AI sits at the centre of hotel operations, decisions and guest engagement.

"Pomolabs is creating opportunities to rethink what hospitality technology can be when AI is built into the architecture from the ground up, rather than added as an afterthought," Mathews said.

What does the system replace?

Pomolabs targets the fragmented status quo: separate point solutions for booking, front desk, housekeeping and analytics that do not share context. The company's three-pillar approach is explicitly commercial — increase revenue, reduce costs, improve guest experiences — which places the platform in the same territory as property management systems and operational software already deployed across IDS Next's base.

IDS Next's footprint gives the subsidiary a ready market. Beyond 300,000 rooms and 220 hotel chains, the parent company serves 25,000-plus POS outlets, 300-plus wellness and leisure venues and 6,500-plus banquet venues. It integrates with 350-plus technology partners and operates in more than 50 countries across Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim. Its customer portfolio includes Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Taj Hotels, ITC Hotels, Choice Hotels and Louvre Hotels Group.

The parent company's core business is cloud-native ERP software for hotels, restaurants, wellness and banquet operations, delivered as mobile-first SaaS.

What changes for operators?

For hoteliers, the launch signals a shift from add-on AI features toward systems designed with AI at the foundation. If Pomolabs delivers on its five-layer architecture, operators could see pricing, housekeeping deployment and front-office decisions driven by one synchronized intelligence layer instead of multiple disconnected tools. The company has not disclosed rollout dates, pricing or which IDS Next customers will pilot the platform.

Pomolabs will operate at pomolabs.ai as it develops the system for a hospitality sector it expects to be defined by greater intelligence in operations and guest engagement.
