Hawkers Asian Street Food Launches Limited-Time Menu Built on Malaysian Nasi Lemak
Hawkers Asian Street Food's new limited-time menu, live at all locations, is anchored by Malaysian Nasi Lemak from co-founder Allen Lo, plus lamb rendang and savory cocktails.

Hawkers Asian Street Food has launched a limited-time menu now available at all locations, anchored by Nasi Lemak — the Malaysian national dish and a plate co-founder and chef Allen Lo grew up eating.
The dish puts coconut rice with spicy sambal, crispy anchovies, roasted peanuts, a soft-boiled egg and cucumber on one plate. Hawkers is positioning it around contrast: creamy and crunchy, savory and spicy, warm and cool. Traditionally eaten by hand, Nasi Lemak is rarely found done well in the U.S., which gives the fast-casual Asian street food concept a point of differentiation on a menu built for discovery.
"We don't want the menu to sit still," Lo said. "Nasi Lemak is a dish I grew up with, so bringing it to our guests is especially meaningful to me. From there, we wanted to keep exploring — there's so much to pull from across Asia, and we're always looking for new flavors, dishes and techniques that give our guests a reason to come back and see what we're cooking up next while maintaining the bold, approachable spirit that defines Hawkers."
The strategy is classic limited-time-offer mechanics: familiar formats — braised meats, noodles, rice and curry — carrying harder-to-source flavors, with a beverage program engineered to move both alcoholic and spirit-free checks.
The food lineup includes:
- Bò Tái Chanh — thinly sliced, seared steak with barrel-aged fish sauce and fresh greens
- Lamb Rendang — slow-braised, spiced lamb with pickled vegetables and toasted coconut, aimed at cooler-weather cravings and designed to pair with Nasi Lemak
- Spiced Lamb Udon — udon noodles tossed with lamb, chili crisp, sesame and fresh herbs
The bar menu leans on savory and spice-driven flavor construction. Pho Two, Please, a cocktail served for two, mixes Roku gin, RumHaven, pho simple, passion fruit and fresh herbs, with fish sauce adding a savory note; each sip is customizable at the table. Put a Wing on It combines Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, Grand Marnier and gochujang hot honey, garnished with a Korean twice-fried wing. The spirit-free side gets Coco Kopi, an iced Vietnamese coffee with coconut miso, milk and black sesame whipped cream, and Orange Sunburst, a Fanta Creamsicle with popping boba and whipped cream aimed at younger and non-drinking guests.
Hawkers also redesigned the physical menu alongside the launch. Founder handwriting and hidden photos add personality, while a streamlined format is intended to speed navigation and push guests toward the new items faster — a merchandising move that pairs with the LTM structure to drive repeat visits within the promotion window.
The rollout spans all Hawkers locations, signaling a systemwide platform test for dishes like Nasi Lemak and Lamb Rendang that could earn permanent placement if the limited-time run performs.
