Hatco Sales Leadership Turns Over as Pumphret Retires After 15 Years
Hatco VP of national sales Mark Pumphret retires at year-end after 15 years; Joe Flaherty is promoted to global sales VP and Stuart Sharp to national sales director.
Hatco Corp. will close the year with a redrawn sales org chart. Mark Pumphret, vice president of national sales, retires at year-end, and the foodservice equipment manufacturer has moved quickly to fill the gap from within, promoting two executives to cover his remit.
Joe Flaherty steps up to vice president of global sales, a role that broadens Hatco's commercial reach beyond the U.S. foodservice operators, dealers and consultants that its national sales organization has traditionally served. Stuart Sharp takes the director of national sales post, giving him direct responsibility for the domestic channel that Pumphret has run.
Pumphret leaves after 15 years with Hatco and more than three decades in the foodservice industry. Over his tenure he held a series of sales leadership positions, building the national accounts relationships that anchor an equipment maker's revenue base — the kind of long-cycle, specification-driven sales that depend on sustained dealer and operator confidence rather than one-off transactions.
The internal nature of both promotions signals continuity rather than a strategic pivot. For a manufacturer like Hatco, whose holding-cabinet, heater and sanitizer lines sit in kitchens across quick-service, casual dining and noncommercial segments, sales leadership transitions carry operational weight: reps manage specs that consultants write into new-build and remodel projects, often months or years before equipment ships.
Flaherty's global title also points to where the Milwaukee-based company sees growth. Equipment makers have leaned increasingly on international distribution to offset softness in North American restaurant construction, and a VP-level global sales post suggests Hatco intends to press that channel harder.
Pumphret's retirement takes effect December 31, leaving Sharp and Flaherty to run the combined portfolio into the new year.
