Email conversion, 4,000 properties and hospitality’s expansion map

A review of 2 million hotel emails finds only 2% of unanswered offers drew a follow-up. Stale AI data, a 70-million-member loyalty reset and new openings widen the agenda.

ALTEK AI analyzed 2 million emails across 48 hotels and found that only 2% of unanswered offers received a follow-up. The vendor estimated €3.7 million in unconverted value, while complete, action-oriented replies and follow-ups drove conversion rates of up to 58%.

Reply speed alone is not a revenue strategy. The report by Kristoffer Pedersen and Jon-Fredrik Hopland also aligns with September’s Revinate call data and The Broadmoor’s follow-up result: commercial follow-through matters more than response speed alone.

Where does social media belong?

Henri Roelings spoke with KORDIE founder Alisa Kremer about treating social media as a commercial discipline rather than a marketing side channel. Kremer argues that “social media belongs in leadership thinking,” connecting measurement, AI, brand differentiation and leadership accountability.

The Wednesday conversation followed Martin Soler’s October 15 attribution argument and Cogwheel’s generative engine optimization (GEO) warning about AI search visibility the previous Friday. Together, they favor clearer positioning as operators face weaker booking attribution and greater scrutiny in AI answers.

Clear positioning now carries more commercial weight.

What does “saying yes” mean operationally?

Niels and Thijs van der Valk, co-directors of family-built Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao, joined Adam Mogelonsky to explain the property’s Indonesian design identity and expansion plans. Those plans sit behind Baoase’s claim to the Caribbean’s No. 1 resort ranking.

Their saying-yes philosophy mirrors Charlotte Weatherall’s discussion the previous week. Both place discretion with employees who can act, rather than trapping hospitality inside procedure. Baoase adds family ownership to that operating model.

Authority, not procedure, defines the service moment.

How can stale data erase a live hotel?

Andrew Paul of Americas Great Resorts warned that outdated AI training data can “erase a property from AI booking agent shortlists.” The failure costs occupancy before operators notice that a live hotel has disappeared from automated recommendations.

A live hotel can disappear without ever closing.

Paul’s account mirrors Americas Great Resorts’ August audit, which found AI still recommending a demolished Miami hotel 108 days after its implosion. One system recommended a hotel that no longer existed; the other omits one that does. Both depend on learned records, not current availability. Markus Busch described the same dependency inside online travel agency (OTA) Booking.com in Monday’s piece.

Which commercial signals are changing distribution?

Markus Busch reported that Gmail’s AI Inbox reads only emails in the Primary tab. Booking confirmations appear in guest briefings, while hotel newsletters in the Promotions tab are skipped, adding another channel to the AI-reads-first problem.

One inbox now carries two communication priorities.

BWH Hotels is rebranding under the WorldHotels masterbrand, an umbrella identity covering more than 4,000 properties and 18 brands. The consolidation places them into one loyalty program with 70 million members and a new digital platform.

The move creates one membership and technology layer.

Sébastien Felix of Influence Society examined Webflow’s Source platform, previewed in September with beta due in Q1 2027. It lets AI agents, or software that acts on tasks, and human teams co-manage hotel websites under shared brand rules and approval workflows.

The system replaces separate AI-only and human-only editing with a shared co-management workflow. Neither pricing nor the payer is disclosed in the briefing.

Hospitality.today argued in September that hotel websites are shifting from discovery toward verification, meaning confirming property details.

Apaleo, another vendor, reported 70% growth in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server usage from July through September 2026. Hotels use the agents for bulk reservation changes, forecasting and rate management.

The result provides a live-operations counterpoint to the prior argument that average revenue index (ARI) system integrations may constrain agentic AI, meaning AI systems acting on live operations. The briefing gives no Apaleo pricing or contract terms.

Who and what is moving next?

Three leadership appointments and seven property developments connect revenue oversight, asset management and market expansion across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the United States.

Leadership appointments

  • Francesco Brunetti became Deputy CEO and Asset Director at Starhotels Group.
  • Claire Hemphill became Head of Revenue at Kew Green Hotels.
  • Kevin Carty was named General Manager at Silversands Collection Grenada.

Property developments

  • Thompson Rome opened as the Thompson Hotels brand’s first location in Italy, while Tree of Life Amoravida opened in North Goa.
  • Radisson Hotel Group introduced Africa’s first hotel with verified net-zero status in Hoedspruit.
  • Manhattan will get a 1,800-room StandardX flagship, and Nammos will open its first U.S. destination in Midtown.
  • Rosewood Hotel Group and SC Asset announced Rosewood Residences Bangkok.
  • Camp Margaritaville Resort Golden Isles broke ground in Brunswick, Georgia.

The pipeline is broad. Its financial terms are not.
