Stayntouch Expands InnVest Deal With Digital Registration Cards
Stayntouch and InnVest Hotels have expanded their partnership, adding digital registration cards to the cloud PMS and eliminating paper check-in documents across the hotel portfolio.
Stayntouch and InnVest Hotels have expanded their partnership, with the hotel operator upgrading to a digital registration card system within the Stayntouch property management platform.
The move replaces paper registration cards — the printed check-in documents guests traditionally sign at the front desk — with a digital workflow built into the PMS. Under the expanded agreement, guests can complete and sign registration cards electronically, cutting the clerical burden at the desk and reducing the paper trail each property must store and manage.
For InnVest, one of Canada's largest hotel ownership and management groups, the upgrade extends an existing technology relationship rather than launching a new vendor search. The company already runs Stayntouch's cloud-based PMS across its portfolio; the digital registration card capability arrives as an added layer on the same system, meaning no parallel software to integrate or separately train staff on.
The economics behind the shift are straightforward. Paper registration cards carry low unit costs but scale across every check-in, every property and every retained record. Digitizing the process removes printing and storage costs, reduces the time front-desk staff spend handling documents, and lowers the risk of incomplete or misfiled registration records — a compliance exposure in jurisdictions that require hotels to retain guest registration data.
For Stayntouch, the deal deepens its footprint with a large multi-property operator at a time when hotel technology vendors are competing to consolidate more of the guest journey — booking, check-in, payments, registration — into a single cloud platform. Add-on modules sold into an existing installed base carry lower sales costs than new-property wins, and expanded agreements like this one are how PMS vendors grow revenue per account.
Who pays is the standard model in these deals: the hotel operator licenses the added capability from the vendor as part of its platform subscription, in exchange for labor savings at the desk and back-office efficiencies in record handling.
The upgrade also positions InnVest to push further toward contactless and mobile check-in formats, since a digital registration card is a prerequisite for letting guests complete arrival formalities before they reach the front desk. That flexibility matters for a portfolio spanning multiple brands and market segments, where labor remains one of the largest controllable cost lines and any reduction in transaction time at check-in directly affects staffing needs during peak arrival windows.
Neither company disclosed the financial terms of the expanded agreement or a specific rollout timeline across the InnVest portfolio in the announcement.
The expansion signals where hotel front-office technology is heading: registration paperwork, long a paper holdout, is being absorbed into cloud PMS platforms, and operators with large portfolios are consolidating those functions vendor by vendor.
