Bad Daddy's Revives 'The Pittsburgher' for November LTO Drop #009

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar brings back The Pittsburgher — a seven-ounce patty stacked with housemade frites — for its Big Bad Monthly Drop series, Nov. 1-30, with $5 Yuengling pints.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar will sell its returning fan favorite, The Pittsburgher, at all locations from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30, the ninth installment of its Big Bad Monthly Drop limited-time series. The burger is a seven-ounce beef patty built on a classic Pittsburgh formula: fries on the burger, not beside it.

The Drop #009 build layers American cheese and crispy potato frites over the patty, then adds lettuce, tomato and a double dose of spicy garlic ketchup on a brioche bun. The frites are housemade, part of the scratch-kitchen program the chain positions as its differentiator in the burger segment. For Bad Daddy's, the monthly drop functions as menu engineering on a clock: a fixed 30-day window that refreshes the menu without permanent additions to the core board.

"Great burgers start with great ingredients, and sometimes the best ones are worth bringing back," said John Masterson, culinary director for Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. "The Pittsburgher has been a fan favorite for years, so bringing it back from the vault for Drop #009 was an easy call. Inspired by the Steel City's famous burger-and-fries combo and finished with a double hit of spicy garlic ketchup, it's stacked with everything guests loved about it the first time around."

The item is a take on a Pittsburgh tradition, where the burger-and-fries combination is a regional signature. Masterson's framing points to the sourcing logic behind the build: ingredients the kitchen already handles — beef, cheese, potatoes, garlic ketchup made in-house — recombined into a premium stack rather than requiring new supply chain inputs.

What else runs alongside the burger?

The November program bundles beer deals with the food drop. Guests can get $5 pints of Yuengling Lager at Bad Daddy's locations in every market except Colorado. In Colorado, the special shifts to $4 talls of BD Amber Ale. Both beer deals run all month long, matching the burger's availability window.

The split pricing matters operationally. Yuengling's distribution footprint has historically excluded Colorado, which explains the swap to the house-branded amber ale in that market rather than a simple price difference. One national promotion, two SKUs.

For a bar-forward burger concept, pairing a sub-$5 draft with a limited-time food item is a straightforward check-builder: the beer deal gives guests a reason to arrive during a month — November — that sits between the patio season and holiday party bookings, typically a soft stretch for casual dining traffic.

Why bring back a vault item?

The Big Bad Monthly Drop series continues to serve chef-driven, scratch-kitchen creations on a limited schedule, and The Pittsburgher shows the second utility of that format beyond novelty: tested fan favorites can re-enter rotation with built-in demand. A returning item carries no menu-adoption risk. Guests already know it.

That's the economics Masterson gestures at with "an easy call." A proven seller pulled from the vault costs less to relaunch than a new build costs to introduce, and the 30-day deadline gives lapsed fans a concrete reason to visit before the burger disappears again.

The Pittsburgher is available for a limited time at Bad Daddy's locations nationwide, with online ordering through baddaddysburgerbar.com. If the monthly drop cadence holds, Drop #010 arrives Dec. 1.
