7 Brew Enters Food for the First Time With Five $3 Bakery Items
7 Brew adds food for the first time: five $3 bakery treats, three modeled on signature drinks, as Dutch Bros and Starbucks ramp up their own food menus nationwide.

7 Brew has added food to its menu for the first time, launching five bakery treats priced at $3 each across its more than 900 stands in 38 states. The move puts the country's fastest-growing chain, per Technomic data, into direct food competition with Dutch Bros and Starbucks at a moment when both rivals are expanding their own bakery cases.
The lineup consists of the Blondie Bar, Brunette Mocha Brownie Bar, Chocolate Chunk Cookie Bar, Banana Bread Mocha Chip Loaf, and Blueberry Streusel Loaf. Three of the five items are engineered to mirror signature beverages already on the board. The Blondie Bar borrows its vanilla and buttery caramel profile from the chain's Blondie drink. The Brunette Mocha Brownie Bar pairs semi-sweet chocolate chunks with a hint of espresso, echoing the Brunette. The Banana Bread Mocha Chip Loaf follows the Banana Bread Mocha, combining ripe bananas with chocolate chips.
What is 7 Brew saying about the launch?
Chief Marketing Officer Nick Chavez said the items answer sustained customer demand for snacks. In a statement, he framed the development as deliberate menu engineering rather than a token expansion.
"We wanted to do more than simply check a box," Chavez said. "We wanted to create bakery treats so good that people would go out of their way to get them. Our new lineup delivers exactly that."
A $3 price point keeps each item within impulse-purchase territory at the drive-thru window, where attachment sales can lift average check without adding labor complexity.
How competitive is the beverage-food race?
Very. Dutch Bros, 7 Brew's closest drive-thru rival, began testing food beyond its traditional muffin tops and granola bars in the second half of 2024. In June 2025 it detailed a hot breakfast lineup including sausage, egg, and cheddar sliders, chorizo wraps, and maple waffles.
On the company's first-quarter earnings call in May, Dutch Bros CEO Christine Barone said the food rollout has contributed to strong growth in the morning daypart (the breakfast sales window) and has driven higher attachment rates than expected.
Starbucks is playing the same game. Under CEO Brian Niccol's "Back to Starbucks" plan, the chain is expanding and upgrading its food and bakery case with items including the Dubai Chocolate Bite, Yuzu Citrus Blossom, and Strawberry Matcha Loaf.
The new items should intensify an already crowded category. Food gives beverage chains a second reason for a visit and a lever on check average that coffee alone cannot provide.
How fast has 7 Brew actually grown?
The numbers explain why competitors are watching. Founded in 2017, 7 Brew went from $3 million in sales its first year to $1.2 billion last year, and it now ranks as the fourth-largest coffee chain in the United States. Technomic data named it the fastest-growing chain in the industry last year, with a triple-digit growth rate.
The bakery launch is not the only menu news. In November, 7 Brew will add six dessert-inspired beverages: Pecan Pie Breve, French Silk Mocha, Tiramisu Cold Brew, Amaretto 7 Brew Energy, Butter Brew 7 Fizz Soda, and Cinnamon Roll Cocoa. The French Silk and Tiramisu flavors will be permanent additions across all stands, a signal that 7 Brew views food and indulgence-leaning beverages as core, not seasonal, business.
