Applebee's Revives Sizzlin' Skillets at $12.99 for Fall

Applebee's brings back Sizzlin' Skillets from $12.99, adding new Cheesy Chicken and Chicken & Shrimp Scampi variants, paired with a $6 Spooky Sips cocktail menu.

Applebee's is pricing its returning Sizzlin' Skillets from $12.99 as the casual-dining chain's fall limited-time offer. The lineup adds two new builds — the Cheesy Chicken Skillet and the Chicken & Shrimp Scampi Skillet — alongside returning fan-favorites. All are available for dine-in and To Go, with participation and selection varying by location.

The return is a menu-engineering play as much as a seasonal one. Skillets carry a theatrical serving format — the audibility of the dish is part of the pitch — and a shared platform: garlic mashed potatoes and seasoned broccoli accompany every variant, which simplifies prep and holds plate cost down across the lineup.

The three headline items:

  • Cheesy Chicken Skillet (new): grilled chicken breast in a Parmesan and White Cheddar cream sauce, topped with Applewood-smoked bacon and crispy onions, with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli.
  • Chicken & Shrimp Scampi Skillet (new): grilled chicken with sautéed shrimp in a garlic lemon butter sauce, same sides.
  • Garlic Sirloin Skillet: seasoned top sirloin in buttery garlic and parsley, same sides.

Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp and Bourbon Street Steak round out the full skillet lineup at participating restaurants.

What is the chain saying?

"Fall brings people together around the table, and this season, Applebee's is giving guests a warm, indulgent meal that offers bold flavors and great value with our new Sizzlin' Skillets," said Michelle Chin, Chief Marketing Officer at Applebee's. She added: "There's no better sound than the sizzle from our irresistible skillets, and with an all-star lineup featuring our new Cheesy Chicken and new Chicken & Shrimp Scampi skillets, paired with fan-favorites, Applebee's has a flavor-packed option for everyone!"

The value framing is explicit. A sub-$13 entrée anchor, with price and selection varying by market, positions the chain against fast-casual check averages while preserving the full-service format.

How do the drinks attach?

Applebee's is pairing the skillets with its seasonal Spooky Sips menu — limited-time $6 Mucho cocktails, mocktails and dirty sodas aimed, in the chain's words, at guests of all ages. The lineup:

  • Dracula's Juice
  • Tipsy Zombie
  • Graveyard Soda
  • Tropical Spell Mocktail

The $6 beverage price point is a low-friction attach that lifts the check without a second entrée decision. Alcohol carries the usual 21-and-over restriction, dine-in only except where carry-out is legal, and tax and gratuity are excluded from quoted prices.

Orders run through Applebees.com, the chain's iOS and Android apps, and third-party delivery. Club Applebee's loyalty members get a welcome offer at signup, another lever for first-party data the chain can target against discounting aggregators.

Limited time, of course. The skillets and the Spooky Sips menu will run through the season, and Applebee's will need a winter platform ready when the sizzle goes quiet.
