Friendly's Snow Days Menu Pairs $11.99 Lunch With Free Sundae Play
Friendly's new Snow Days menu runs systemwide through the holidays, led by an $11.99 weekday lunch deal with a free sundae attach and three comfort-food entrées from BRIX Holdings.
Friendly's is betting on a $11.99 weekday lunch to keep tables full through the holidays. The 80-plus-year-old family-dining chain, owned by BRIX Holdings, launched its limited-time Snow Days menu systemwide this week, pairing three seasonal entrées with a free-sundae attach and two value platforms designed to protect check averages while traffic-building.
The menu mechanics are straightforward: order any Snow Days entrée and a Happy Ending Sundae comes free. That's a classic attach-rate play — the giveaway raises perceived value on the entrée while pushing dessert volume through the chain's highest-margin category, ice cream.
What's actually on the plate?
The three new entrées lean heavy on comfort-carb construction, a menu-engineering move that manages cost of goods through bread, potatoes and gravy as the base of each build:
- Snowfall Burger — the Big Beef Burger topped with white American cheese, Alfredo sauce and hardwood-smoked bacon on a Parmesan-dusted pretzel bun, served with fries.
- Fireside Melt — white American and Tillamook sharp yellow cheddar with grilled chicken, bacon, tomato and garlic aioli on grilled sourdough, plus fries.
- Harvest Stack — sourdough stacked with stuffing, garlic red-skin mashed potatoes, grilled turkey breast, cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.
The named Tillamook cheddar is the one premium-sourcing callout on the savory side; the rest of the builds run on commodity cheeses and gravies.
Where the dessert margin lives
Three new desserts anchor the ice cream program: the Snowball Fight Sundae (vanilla ice cream, powdered-sugar donut holes, hot fudge, mini marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles), the Peppermint Stick Fribble (peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, cherry), and the returning Jubilee Cake, a layered chocolate chip and chocolate ice cream cake with fudge, almonds, candies and a pink frosted border.
What does this change for the operator economics?
The two value deals show the pricing strategy. Better Together bundles two entrées and one appetizer from $24.99, or $29.99 with premium entrée picks — roughly $12.50 to $15 per head. The Weekday Lunch Deal runs Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering five select entrées plus a Happy Ending Sundae for $11.99, targeting the daypart where family-dining chains fight hardest for traffic.
There's also a repeat-visit hook for the youngest guests: every kids' meal now includes a sealed pack of Conehead Crew trading cards, with an 18-card collection to complete — a collectible mechanic that turns one visit into several.
Erik Jensen, vice president of marketing for BRIX Holdings, framed the season around experience rather than price alone. "Friendly's has always been about making a meal feel like more than just a meal, and Snow Days gives people plenty of ways to have fun," Jensen said. "Between a Snowball Fight Sundae piled high with toppings and a Conehead Crew card pack waiting to be opened, there's a little something to make every winter visit memorable."
The chain is also routing the promotion through its Friendly's Fan Club rewards program, which stacks exclusive offers and promotions on top of the LTO pricing — a data-capture play as much as a loyalty one.
The Snow Days menu runs now through the holiday season across all Friendly's restaurants.
