Preferred Hotels Adds 11 Properties to Legend Collection in 2026
Preferred Hotels & Resorts added 11 properties to its Legend Collection in 2026, pushing the luxury tier above 125 hotels worldwide. Seven are new openings, including Wynn Al Marjan Island, which opens spring 2027.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts added 11 properties to its Legend Collection in 2026, lifting the luxury tier above 125 hotels worldwide and signaling sustained operator appetite for independent, destination-led inventory at the high end of the soft-brand segment.
The additions span Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with seven new openings and four existing hotels joining the portfolio. Parent company Preferred Travel Group markets more than 600 hotels, resorts, residences and hotel groups across 80 countries, with the Legend tier positioned as the top of four collections inside that network.
What is the Legend Collection?
Legend is the highest-priced, most curated of Preferred's global collections and is reserved for properties the brand credits with individualized service, destination-defining dining and high-design accommodations. CEO Lindsey Ueberroth framed the 2026 class as a response to a more fragmented luxury guest.
"Today's luxury traveler is not looking for one prescribed idea of the perfect hotel. They are seeking experiences that speak to their individual interests," Ueberroth said. "The latest additions to our Legend Collection reflect this shift while sharing the distinctive character that make each of them a legendary hotel."
The positioning matters for owner economics: Legend properties typically command average daily rates well above the parent network's mid-tier and soft-brand entries, and membership in the tier carries marketing, distribution and loyalty benefits that smaller independents cannot replicate on their own.
Where are the new Legends?
Seven of the 11 additions are new builds or major reopenings:
- The Cooper (Charleston, South Carolina) — opened March 2026
- BLESS Ibiza The Site (Ibiza, Spain) — opened June 2026
- The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary (Madikeri, India) — opened July 2026; 76 acres in the Western Ghats
- BLESS Hotel Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain) — opened August 2026
- Serras Sevilla (Seville, Spain) — opened September 2026
- Palais Jamaï Fès (Morocco) — opens October 2026; restored late-19th-century palace
- Wynn Al Marjan Island (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE) — opens spring 2027
Four additions were existing operations: San Clemente Palace Venice (Italy), Dusit Thani Bangkok (Thailand), Edgewood Tahoe Resort (Stateline, Nevada; LEED Silver-certified) and MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites (Lisbon), the last of which opened in December 2025.
How does Wynn Al Marjan reshape the Middle East pipeline?
Wynn Al Marjan Island is the largest unit in the cohort and one of the most-watched resort openings on the 2027 calendar. The integrated resort will feature a 70-story tower, more than 1,500 luxury accommodations and over 20 dining venues, alongside a beach club, private marina, gardens and pools. Wynn Resorts operates the property; Preferred provides Legend-tier distribution and loyalty integration rather than management.
For the broader Middle East, the development signals continued capital deployment into integrated-resort product, with food and beverage running well above the 8-10 outlet count typical of large luxury hotels. Twenty-plus venues imply an F&B labor percentage and cost-of-goods structure closer to a Las Vegas integrated resort than a traditional urban five-star.
How does this tie into Preferred's loyalty economics?
The collection expansion feeds Preferred's I Prefer loyalty program, which has 5 million enrolled members and covers more than 600 participating hotels. Each new Legend property increases the addressable room night base against which Preferred can amortize loyalty acquisition cost, while giving owners incremental pricing power through access to repeat luxury travelers.
Demand evidence the company cites — its Luxury Travel Report — points to cultural immersion, regenerative and nature-based travel and personalized urban stays as the three strongest growth verticals. The 2026 Legend cohort is built around exactly those pillars: heritage properties in Fès and Bangkok, forest and alpine sanctuaries in Coorg and Tahoe, and intimate city hotels in Lisbon, Barcelona, Charleston and Venice.
With seven new openings already delivered in 2026 and Wynn Al Marjan still on the runway for spring 2027, Preferred's Legend tier is positioned to add further inventory next year as Wynn's Ras Al Khaimah project brings more than 1,500 keys and a 20-plus venue F&B operation online under the brand.
