GHA Q3 Revenue Hits $1.04B, Up 27%, as Loyalty Redemptions Jump 58%
GHA posted $1.04B in Q3 2026 revenue, up 27%, with room nights up 33%, D$ redemptions up 58% and cross-brand revenue at $168M across 38 million members.

Global Hotel Alliance posted US$1.04 billion in total revenue for Q3 2026, up 27% year-on-year, as loyalty redemptions surged 58% and cross-brand revenue jumped 53% to US$168 million across its 38-million-member GHA DISCOVERY programme.
Total room revenue rose 28% to US$843 million. Volume, not rate, did the heavy lifting: room nights grew 33% and average length of stay increased 6%.
Year-to-date, the alliance has generated US$2.8 billion in total revenue, a 21% increase over 2025. Cross-border stays accounted for US$1.97 billion of that figure, confirming international demand as the core engine of the model.
What is driving the loyalty economics?
New enrolments rose 17% in Q3 to 1.3 million members, taking the total to 38 million. Redemptions of DISCOVERY Dollars (D$), the programme's rewards currency, climbed 58% in the quarter.
Because members can earn and burn D$ across all 1,000 hotels in the alliance, that redemption activity translated directly into cross-brand revenue of US$168 million, up 53%. The portfolio spans more than 60 independent hotel brands, and GHA reports members increasingly stay across multiple brands — the cross-brand stay being the alliance's structural answer to the scale advantages of chained competitors.
CEO Chris Hartley said: "Our performance for the first nine months of 2026 reflects the continued strength of the GHA alliance model. This growth has been driven by strong international leisure demand, increasing member engagement, and our brands capturing more value through cross-brand stays and direct bookings."
Where did the revenue come from?
International room nights rose 40%, generating US$589 million in room revenue. Domestic room revenue grew 19% to US$254 million, a balance GHA credits to the diversification of its global portfolio.
Top destinations by total room revenue in Q3:
- Spain — US$73 million, up 33%, the single largest market across domestic and international stays
- UK — up 28%
- UAE — up 75%, underpinned by staycation and regional travel demand
- Thailand — up 48%
- Italy — up 18%
Among international stays specifically, Thailand led with 53% growth, followed by Spain (+44%), the UK (+34%), Italy (+18%) and Singapore (+12%).
The United States remained the largest feeder market, generating US$101 million in international room revenue, up 31%, and accounting for 17% of total room revenue. The UK, China, Australia and Germany followed.
Member travel patterns diverged sharply by home market. US-based members showed the widest spread, with strong demand for Italy, the UK, Greece and the Netherlands. UK travellers favoured Portugal, Spain and Italy. Australian members concentrated regionally — Singapore, Fiji, Thailand and Indonesia — while Chinese travellers booked Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Thailand and the Maldives. German members stayed short-haul, in the Netherlands, Spain and Italy.
How is the footprint expanding?
The alliance added 36 properties during the quarter. Growth came from two new homegrown brands — PURO in Poland and The Marmara in Turkey — plus further additions from existing GHA brands including NH Hotels, Rotana and AVANI.
The expansion matters commercially: membership in GHA lets independent brands drive incremental revenue and reduce dependence on third-party distribution channels while retaining management independence and individual positioning — the pitch that underpins the alliance's recruitment of independent operators competing against chain-scale loyalty programmes.
Looking to the final quarter, Hartley said: "International travel demand remains remarkably resilient, while growing member engagement and the continued expansion of our portfolio are creating even more opportunities to connect travellers with exceptional independent hotel brands around the world."
