Emily Nunn has been appointed hotel manager of INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool, a four-star, 207-room property in Liverpool city centre. Her remit spans hotel operations, commercial opportunities and employee development at the Old Hall Street hotel.

The appointment brings a manager with more than 15 years of hospitality experience and senior posts across several UK properties. Her background covers hotel operations, commercial performance and team development. She arrives from the deputy general manager post at the 167-room Malmaison Manchester.

What has Emily Nunn managed?

Nunn joined Malmaison Manchester as food and beverage operations manager in January 2019. The 167-room hotel promoted her to deputy general manager within two months, expanding her remit to day-to-day operations.

Her stated areas of responsibility included operational performance, financial management and cost control. She also oversaw initiatives for employee development and guest satisfaction, while maintaining health and safety standards, operational compliance and service delivery.

Her cost-control experience is specific. Nunn handled both food and beverage (F&B) operations and wider cost control. The announcement discloses no occupancy, average daily rate, payroll percentage or F&B margin. Commercial improvement is therefore part of her mandate, not a published target.

Before Malmaison, Nunn served as deputy general manager at Hallmark Hotel Manchester Airport & Spa and Hallmark Inn Manchester South. At Hallmark Hotels, she supported higher F&B profitability after refurbishment projects and the introduction of new financial controls.

At Hallmark, refurbishment work preceded the introduction of new financial controls. The Liverpool announcement names no refurbishment, pricing change or F&B repositioning. It assigns Nunn a broader commercial brief without publishing numerical targets.

What changes at INNSiDE?

INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool combines contemporary accommodation with the Spanish group’s lifestyle-hotel concept. The property serves business and leisure visitors. Nunn will oversee hotel operations, commercial opportunities and employee development, while maintaining service standards and strengthening the hotel’s position in Liverpool’s hospitality market.

The appointment strengthens the hotel’s management team, according to the announcement. The 207-room property continues to develop operational performance, employee engagement and guest experience.

Emily Nunn said: “Having spent a number of years managing hotels in Manchester, when the opportunity to join INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool arose, I jumped at the chance.” She called Liverpool vibrant, said the hotel has much to offer and will work with the team to build on its success. She also pledged exceptional experiences for business and leisure guests.

What does Meliá expect?

Garry Fortune, UK Operations Director at Meliá Hotels International, said: “In her new role, Emily will focus on operational excellence, enhancing the guest experience, developing talent and maximising commercial opportunities.”

Fortune tied her appointment to collaboration, team engagement and a positive workplace culture. He said Nunn’s experience and fresh perspective would support performance, employee development and the hotel’s ability to stand out in Liverpool.

His wider stated objective was to empower employees to thrive within a fun, energetic environment while taking pride in memorable guest experiences.

The announcement identifies the hotel as part of Meliá Hotels International but does not state whether it is company-operated or franchised. It also provides no revenue, profit or staffing figures, leaving the new manager’s financial targets unstated.

Her first operating results will show whether the cost-control record from Malmaison and Hallmark can strengthen the 207-room hotel’s commercial performance while preserving Meliá’s stated focus on service and employee engagement.
